We got some more done in the nursery last weekend! Our friend Craig Reed is an electrician and he came over to help with some wiring and hang the chandelier. He is going to wire wall sconces above the changing table so we have some dim light for night time diaper changes!!! I hope to get those sconces ordered today.
My Mom came over too and hung Evan's curtains and we did a prenatal. He's not head down yet but we aren't concerned at this time.
Josh custom fit 6 Paris photos we bought off the street in Paris to fit these frames I found at Michaels. He did a great job hanging them! It turned out like I had wanted!!:)
We are still waiting on the crib to arrive. The original crib I ordered, which was a 46" round crib, I had to send back because it did not come apart and wouldn't fit through the door unless I took the door and trim off the door way! Well that didn't seem practical to me at all. To have to retrim and paint the doorway and do it again in 2 years when you take the crib down! Then forever store that crib as a big round drum because it doesn't break down.
I was crushed. It was the crib we really wanted. We had moved the light fixture in the ceiling to fit above that crib specifically and bought the round rug. I guess I should have asked more questions and fully read the online assembly instructions before I did all that.
So we sent it back and I ordered another crib which is the more traditional rectangular shape. It's a gorgeous french inspired upholstered crib but it's much larger and will fill the room up. So now my glider and ottoman won't fit.
But I found a fix for that. The adjacent bedroom has now been turned into an extension of Evan's nursery. I have also made it Paris themed and the glider will fit nicely in that bedroom only a few steps away.
So one little crib mishap made me redecorate another room!!! It's been fun though! And it's turning out great!
The crib and glider should arrive sometime at the end of August or early September. I ordered an old vintage wall map of Paris from the 1800s to custom fit the trimmed box behind the bookcase. It should arrive mid August sometime. I'm excited to see it in person.
Now I need to work on finding the perfect vintage letters for his name to go on the wall!
