My Sisters threw us a Couples Baby shower Sunday with my Dad and Pat, Mom, sister Ariel, her finance Chris, Uncle Jim, Andy, and all my nephews! It was a fun time.
Tamar and Terah had a blast planning and making decorations for the shower. My Mom made the diaper cake and some food, and my brother Michael even helped shop for decor with them. My Dad and Pat came up with a theme song to play and gifts for the shower games. My 6 year old nephew, Eli, made sure everyone got a party stamp on their hands too! Everyone was in on making it a fun event.
My Mom had us write out any fears we may have as we get prepared to embark on the birth and raising of Evan. She had us put them in an envelope and seal it. We all gathered around and the family prayed over those fears, Evan, and for us. We then attached the envelope to balloons and lifted them up to the sky for the Lord to handle. It was a special moment.
Then we all gathered to play a game that Tamar thought of. It was called the Evan's Elephant Memory game. It was great because even the little nephews could play. The prizes were hilarious and matched whatever word you found during the game. We were all laughing! I got the word "epidural" and my prize was a lifesaver candy, and I also got the word "Arrival Date" and I got a starburst candy. Josh got the words "12 pound baby" and he got a pack of HubbaBubba gum, and so on. They were well thought out and made everyone laugh. We also played what candy bar is in the dirty diaper. This was hysterical. Our new addition to the family, Chris Wallace, didn't get any of them right because he doesn't like chocolate! So he got the prize of a jar of pickles and a gift card for ice-cream! Lol! Because that's what pregnant women crave. So we had fun.
