A beautiful quilt

This weekend my brother Matt and Sister-n-law Melanie were in town for Thanksgiving weekend. They gave us a special gift for Evan.

Melanie had it made. She got to pick out the different fabrics, and what stitch to use on each. It turned out beautiful!!
They both share our love for Paris!!

It goes perfectly in Evan's nursery!!

Thank you so much! What a treasure.

Getting Situated

Now that the showers are over, it's time to start figuring out where to put everything. We have to make a spot for things. I cleared out a small cabinet in the kitchen to store his bottles, sippy cups, and bowls.
I also cleared room in the pantry for all the baby food making stuff and some things I'm storing in the basement until he needs them.
There's lots still to get and figure out where to put it, but I'm having fun rearranging and making room for our little guy!
I washed all of his 0-6 months clothes and started organizing the drawers. We both sat and folded all his tiny little things and just melted at how cute everything is! Even the blankets and burp cloths are so cute to us! We folded his tiny little socks. It's so hard to believe they will fit him!
It's been fun getting prepared for his arrival!!

We got some more done in the nursery last weekend! Our friend Craig Reed is an electrician and he came over to help with some wiring and hang the chandelier. He is going to wire wall sconces above the changing table so we have some dim light for night time diaper changes!!! I hope to get those sconces ordered today.
My Mom came over too and hung Evan's curtains and we did a prenatal. He's not head down yet but we aren't concerned at this time.
Josh custom fit 6 Paris photos we bought off the street in Paris to fit these frames I found at Michaels. He did a great job hanging them! It turned out like I had wanted!!:)
We are still waiting on the crib to arrive. The original crib I ordered, which was a 46" round crib, I had to send back because it did not come apart and wouldn't fit through the door unless I took the door and trim off the door way! Well that didn't seem practical to me at all. To have to retrim and paint the doorway and do it again in 2 years when you take the crib down! Then forever store that crib as a big round drum because it doesn't break down.
I was crushed. It was the crib we really wanted. We had moved the light fixture in the ceiling to fit above that crib specifically and bought the round rug. I guess I should have asked more questions and fully read the online assembly instructions before I did all that.
So we sent it back and I ordered another crib which is the more traditional rectangular shape. It's a gorgeous french inspired upholstered crib but it's much larger and will fill the room up. So now my glider and ottoman won't fit.
But I found a fix for that. The adjacent bedroom has now been turned into an extension of Evan's nursery. I have also made it Paris themed and the glider will fit nicely in that bedroom only a few steps away.
So one little crib mishap made me redecorate another room!!! It's been fun though! And it's turning out great!
The crib and glider should arrive sometime at the end of August or early September. I ordered an old vintage wall map of Paris from the 1800s to custom fit the trimmed box behind the bookcase. It should arrive mid August sometime. I'm excited to see it in person.
Now I need to work on finding the perfect vintage letters for his name to go on the wall!

Some new gifts!

[caption id="attachment_458" align="alignnone" width="300"] Birthday Gifts from Lollie &Pop[/caption]

I opened my birthday gifts from Mike and Jennifer (a.k.a Lollie & Pop) last night. Josh told them that I wanted stuff from my registry! I can't wait to read The Giving Tree to Evan, and put a cute picture of us in that frame that says Mommy and me at the top! And watch him play with his wooded elephant and put money in his little elephant bank! So cute!

Thank you so much! XOXOXO

I also got his bassinet put together. Thanks to our neighbors Jim and Cathy McCarthy for the skirting and bedding from Pottery Barn kids!! It's adorable

Bebe Nursery

I am heading to Houston, TX today to visit my girlfriend Angie and finally meet her son, Royce! Cant wait! We plan to do some shopping for the nursery! I'm excited to see the furniture in person instead of online.

We have decided on a Vintage Paris theme nursery in honor of his first trip and baby moon!:) The colors will be soft baby blue, French grey, and off white. We snagged some cool prints to hang on the wall when we were in Paris. I just need to frame them.

I'm hoping to find a vintage carousel rocking horse for his room for a decent price then what I'm seeing online. Wish me luck! :)
