No changes

We went to my doctor appointment today and nothing has really progressed. Evan's still doing great and so am I but I'm not dilating further or any more effaced than last appointment. He's still head down and facing back. His head isn't totally locked in yet. So I'm thinking I still have the weekend. We are planning on getting out and enjoying this beautiful fall weather. I have a baby shower to go to on Saturday as well.

If I haven't gone into labor by Wednesday then I go back to doctor at 2pm for a stress test and to make sure he's doing ok. That will be 41 weeks so she wants to see how well the placenta is holding up and if there's a need possibly an ultrasound to check the amniotic fluid around him. If there's a problem that is found we will move towards delivering that day. If no issues are found I can go as far as 20th until we will be pushed towards inducement. The rate of c-section significantly goes up at 42 weeks gestation.

I'm not a fan of inducement so I'm praying for Evan to kick start things naturally and then those decisions and dilemmas don't have to be faced. I'm doing everything I can on my part to get things going. Doing long walks, bouncing on my birthing ball, drinking my tea and herbs, practicing my breathing, etc. I've even tried the myths about spicy foods, balsamic vinegar, tomatoes, and more. Just in case any of it might do the trick. Next is acupressure points on ankles and hands!! It's really up to Evan though.

Team Evan!

  1. Well, I am still on standby. And that is fine with me........have a messy house that needs attention.
I hope you enjoy the body massage and acupressure. Wish I was there for my own massage. But, I will get busy here and just wait. All is well. And that is most important!!! Love you, MOM

  3. If it makes you feel any better, I was induced with both girls and it went wonderfully (if that can be said about labor :) Anyway, I'm sure you'll do awesome and things will be fine. I just thought some positive input on being induced might encourage you if it comes to that :) xoxo

  4. Thanks Niki! That is good to hear. I'm trusting everything will go fine no matter how it comes about. Just as long as he's healthy, I'm ok then.
