Update on Evan

Sorry for not posting an update from last Friday's doctor's appointment.  I know many of you thought that I was going to be induced today.  That did not happen.  Friday they brought me in for another stress test and everything looked great once again with Evan.  So they decided to wait and check me again today for any progress. Josh and I tried all the tricks to get things going.  And YES, I mean everything ;) thank you all for checking and suggesting different things.  We tried them all, but today when she checked me there has been NO progress in dilation, effacement, or station.

I am now 9 days past my due date.  Ideally they don't like for women to go 14 days past their due date because the risks significantly out weigh the benefits at that stage.  That is why they are constantly checking him to make sure we haven't crossed into that risk stage.  With no progression happening, I'm not dilated enough for them to strip my membranes, so that option is out.  At this point the only next step is to try a prostaglandin.  So they gave me the options of dates and I chose the last possible day and time which is Friday night at 6pm we are scheduled to go in.  We will stay over night and see if I go into labor on my own sometime on Saturday.

The name of this website couldn't be more appropriate right now.  This is a journey by faith.  I trust that Evan's birth date has already been chosen and how he will enter this world has already been decided.  God knows what is best for us and him, and maybe a more planned and prepared birth is what we all need.  I mean after all, Josh was going to take me to the airport the last time we thought things were in motion!! Lol!! Or maybe like so many of you had said, once you schedule going in, he may just decide to come on his own because he wants his own say so.  Either way, we are at peace with this journey and know that we will be holding our son very soon!!

Team Evan!
