6 month checkup today!

Today we took Evan to see Dr. Megremis for his 6 month checkup and we got his new measurements. He tipped the scales at a solid 18 pounds; good enough to keep him firmly in the 56th percentile. And with a whopping 28 inches on the dot, he notched a 91st percentile for length!! Both have increased since his last visit. I think it's clear that the protein shakes and push up regimen we have him on it working!! Just kidding--he eats like every meal is his last!!!

Then the moment of truth--a shot. It really worked out well. He was really tired and hungry, so after the doc was done, we hooked him up to the mobile feeding station (Mom) and while he nursed, the nurse gave him a quick prick in the chunky thigh and he never flinched! Took it like a man!!! I was so proud. (Tear, sniffle, sniffle).

Afterwards, we headed home for his 6 month photoshoot and Mommy had fun dressing him up in all kinds of hats. We took shots with his favorite "toy of the month"--his yellow rattle with the checkered flag on it. We also made sure to get a pic with his still best friend, Billy Bear. He absolutely lights up when he sees Billy. It's so cute!!

It's really amazing how fast this little miracle is growing. We just think he is magical--he amazes us everyday with just the simplest new thing. A new expression, a new move, a new way to rollover....just things that are surely normal, but so exciting to us. Evan is so happy and has such personality already. He will be so quick to explore when he can--he has shown for quite some time a penchant for always wanting to see what's around him. I love that exploratory spirit that he has. Can't wait for tomorrow with him everyday!
