Successful Trip!!

We had a great flight down to Tampa with Evan. The lady at gate check was so helpful and she said there were extra seats so they let us bring our car seat on and put Evan in a seat!! It was great! He slept during take off and landing and was pretty happy the whole trip. He wanted to be up and checking thing out though so we had him in our laps for most of it so he could engage with us and others. Of course people were loving Mr. Happy!! He was hamming it up for all!! The flight attendant gave him his wings for his first flight!! Thanks Southwest Airlines we won't forget ya!!

Dylan picked Evan and I up and we headed to his house and Josh went to his work meeting. We had a fun night of playing and he settled right in. He's been an awesome traveler. Looking forward to the rest of the trip!!!!

Enjoy a few pics from the airport and flight!!!

What a weekend!

Happy Easter evening all! Hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as we did! Evan had a really fun weekend! We already talked about the stampede yesterday! This morning we got up and went to church. It felt great to worship this morning and see a packed house! After a quick stop home we finished the day at Aunt Diane's house with family and friends and sunshine. Sunburns even on mommy and daddy! Evan was wearing his sunscreen like a good boy! Evan had a blast and was chatting up anyone who would listen. He loved hanging with Malia and Connor and Uncle Tim. Melissa and his cousins were great too (sorry about the spit up Melissa!) And he especially had fun with Uncle LC and that mustache!!! Thanks to the aunts for his awesome new visor. Love it!

Here are some shots of Evan's first Easter weekend!

Have a great week everyone! Be blessed!

Daddy

The Hunt is On!

Today was a beautiful day here in Indy! It was the perfect day for Evan's first Easter egg hunt! We joined the rest of the under-6 crowd from Carmel at West Park. It looked like a parade of strollers and candied up kids!!! We paid our $8 for Evan to not pick up a single egg and lined up by the 0-3 year old field of eggs and waited for the proverbial "shot gun" start. Note: when did Easter egg hunts become Easter-eggs-laying-in-a-field-where-everyone-can-see-them? When the gun sounded, the stampede of kids mowed down the eggs like a herd of wildebeast loose on a new plain of grass. Timnah and I were elbowing parents to get to the last three eggs untouched by all the other ankle biters. It was the most hectic 1 minute 42 seconds I think I have ever been a part of. All in all a funny experience and we were happy to be outside and enjoying a new "first" with Evan. Next year we will start training in the basement in early March on how to box out. He was a real cutie! Enjoy the pics:

We have an eater!!!!

Well, I was planning to wait until after he was 6 months to start food but recently Evan has been showing all the signs of being ready for solids, so tonight we decided to give it a try. Low and behold it was a success!!!

Our little man knew exactly what to do! We started with some organic winter squash. He opened his mouth to take the spoon; he kept his hands pretty much out of the way; and he swallowed really well!! It was so much fun to see him enjoying it! We are looking forward to seeing his reaction to different foods and flavors next time!!
